Lou Reed
The founder and lead singer of The Velvet Underground died on October 27, 2013, of complications from hepatitis C and liver disease after receiving a transplant that same year. It’s believed he contracted hep C as result of his past addiction. His wife Laurie Anderson acknowledged that he was sick as a result of HCV treatments in a farewell story she wrote for Rolling Stone.
